4 Ducats 1915
1.282€
One of the most beautiful coins minted by the Austrian mint, the 4 Ducats, although it bears the date 1915, is actually a reunion and almost all the 4 Ducats in circulation were produced after that date. They are still produced by the Austrian mint with the date of 1915.
The minting of the 4 Ducats began in 1854 both in the Austrian mint and in those of Milan and Venice, ending in 1914. In 1920, with the date 1915, the minting of the 4 Ducats 1915 began in large quantities, making the 4 Ducats 1915 a “trade coin” coin minted with the aim of facilitating commercial exchange between nations, avoiding the use of ingots.
The 4 Ducati 1915 features the graduated and draped bust of F. Giuseppe I facing right on the right and the Austrian crowned double-headed eagle on the reverse. It has the value 4 in brackets and the date in the legend, the edge is striped, and in many specimens it has a mirror background. The weight is 13.964 grams, with a very high title of 23.68 carats. This coin is considered by many to be an investment coin and is well known and used by the populations of the Balkan / Eastern European area.
The 4 Ducat gold coins of Austria in Italy are VAT exempt.
